Fix-It-Friday along with the re-launch of The Fab Lab will be held this Friday, October 25, from 5-8pm, at the Georgia Southern Fab Lab at 64 East Main Street, Downtown Statesboro.

There will be activities for makers of all ages, machine demonstrations, fixers, food trucks, music, and more.

The Fab Lab and the Greener Boro Commission have partnered to bring back Fix-It-Fridays as a way to reduce waste and encourage innovation.

Community members are invited to drop in with their items that need repair.

Dan Larkin will provide music, and food trucks will be there as well for a great family fun event. Several artists from the Averitt Center will be displaying their work in the alley, too.

Lissa Leege, of Greener Boro Commission shared, “This celebration of innovation and sustainability will be fun for the whole family.”

The Fab Lab recently re-opened after a major renovation. They are ready to help bring your ideas to life with equipment like 3D printers, a lathe, a CNC router, a laser cutter, a vinyl cutter, a welder, saws, a drill press, hand tools and more. If you can dream it, you can make it in the FabLab!

“We’re happy to continue to partner with the Greener Boro Commission to keep Fix-it Friday on the calendar,” says Suzanne Hallman, Director of Business Operations of BIG (Business Innovation Group at Georgia Southern University). “We invite all makers, dreamers, and innovators to come see the Fab Lab space and how everything works. We look forward to having a great crowd back downtown this Friday to celebrate this relaunch with us!”

Come check it out on Friday!
