The second annual Festival of Hope took place on Saturday, September 2nd, at Mill Creek Park.
The festival celebrated the recovery of individuals from substance abuse disease while honoring the life of the late Hannah Jane Fordham, who is the inspiration behind the annual festival. (Read Grice Connect's preview article on the Festival of Hope HERE.)
The event had an array of food, arts & crafts vendors, and music, as well as a resource fair. An Overdose Awareness Walk took place at the beginning of the festival, held in memory of those lost to overdose.
The annual theme of the Festival of Hope was "remembering those we have lost to overdose and celebrating the hope of recovery."
The event was sponsored by the Bulloch County Alcohol and Drug Council (BADC), Hannah's Hope, Freedom Through Recovery: The Susan Ford Recovery Community Organization, and Suzy Fordham.
Hannah's namesake non-profit, Hannah's Hope, shared on Facebook that, "Our commitment to raising awareness and assisting individuals on their journey to recovery remains unwavering. Together, we can make a difference!"
