Oscar Mayer’s iconic Wienermobile is searching for its next generation of Hotdoggers, creative, outgoing individuals ready to take on a one of a kind adventure.
Applications are now open for this coveted position, offering 12 recent graduates the chance to crisscross the country in the 27 foot long hot dog on wheels, all while representing one of the most recognizable brands in the world. With the application window closing January 31, 2025, now’s the time to relish the opportunity.
Georgia Southern alumni, known for their strong sense of community and leadership, are well-suited for this role. The Hotdogger program calls for skills in communication, creativity, and adaptability: qualities honed in the halls of GS.
This isn’t just a job; it’s an unforgettable experience that combines marketing, public relations, and social media expertise with a side of adventure.
The Hotdogger program has been a launching pad for future leaders since it began in 1988. Each year-long assignment starts with two weeks of immersive training, preparing Hotdoggers for a tour packed with media appearances, social media content creation, and event coordination.
Hotdoggers are tasked with driving and maintaining the Wienermobile, creating social content for platforms like TikTok and Instagram, and sharing smiles at over 200 events nationwide. It’s a road trip with a purpose, and by the end of the year, Hotdoggers typically log 20,000 miles and visit 20 states.
For graduates interested in pursuing careers in marketing, public relations, or communications, this program is an unparalleled opportunity. It offers hands-on experience and connections with top professionals at Kraft Heinz, as well as an alumni network filled with industry leaders.
The perks are enticing, too, with a $35,600 base salary, a $7,200 annual meal allowance, full health benefits, paid time off, and hotel expenses covered during the tour.
Georgia Southern graduates who have studied public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications are encouraged to apply, but the program isn’t limited to these fields. What matters most is an outgoing, positive personality and a willingness to embrace the adventure of life on the road. Previous travel experience is a plus, and bilingual applicants are highly encouraged.
As one of the most competitive programs in the industry, the selection process is rigorous, with thousands of applicants vying for only 12 positions each year.
“As a former Hotdogger myself, I can confirm the relished position is one of the most unique experiences available to college graduates today,” said Molle Twing, Senior Brand Manager, Experiential, for Oscar Mayer. “With more than half of Gen Z aspiring to be an ‘influencer,’ our Hotdogger program is a great first step for anyone interested in exploring a career in social media or brand marketing. With content creation and communications at the center of the job, it’s the only masterclass that takes place on a 27-foot-long hot dog—making for one truly life-changing experience you won’t get from a typical 9-5.”
Hotdoggers bring delight and smiles to people around the country, while representing the iconic Wienermobile, which has been cemented in the fabric of American culture since it debuted in 1936. The Hotdoggers have had the opportunity to be a part of many special moments throughout the years, including celebrating the 50th anniversary of Oscar Mayer’s iconic Bologna song jingle, surprising civilians and A-list celebrities with joy rides and marrying 12 couples at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas.
The coveted Hotdogger title is granted to 12 applicants who cut the mustard. To learn more about Oscar Mayer, the Wienermobile or Hotdoggers, visit the job posting on the Kraft Heinz Career Page and follow along on Instagram and TikTok.
