Evie Daley, nine year old Brooklet Elementary School fourth grader, daughter of Lindsay Brown and Will Daley of Statesboro, and sister of Wilkes Daley, recently earned the coveted title of USA National Princess.

Back in January, Evie competed in the UNM Georgia preliminary competition. She captured the title of UNM Georgia princess, which granted her entry to compete in the national competition. Alongside 40 other girls in her age division, Evie and her family traveled to Orlando, Florida, July 13-21 to compete for this prestigious title.

Throughout the week, she competed in casual wear, interview (counting 40% of overall score), runway (30% of overall score), and evening gown (30% of overall score). In addition, contestants were able to attend a derby party, two pajama parties, awards gala, and many other fun activities provided by UNM’s amazing sponsors.

Evie was blessed to receive the Overall National Supermodel award, which was a combination of her photogenic and runway modeling score. This granted her a $250 cash scholarship. Evie was also chosen as one of the top ten in the entire junior division to model in the famous designer Ashley Lauren influencer competition.

Evie received 1st runner up in the optional casual wear competition. On the night of final competition, Evie was honored to capture the title of USA National Princess. This amazing title awarded her with a $5,000 cash scholarship, over $132,000 in prizes, trips all over the country with her sister queens, and the opportunity to model in New York Fashion Week.

Evie chose UNM because it is an award winning national pageant organization that enriches the lives of young ladies through scholarship opportunities, mentorship, confidence building, and life-long skills. USA National Miss began in 2010, and has become one of the largest and most prestigious national pageant systems in the industry. Its philanthropy is INSPIRE, encouraging young ladies to find their passion in their communities as they INSPIRE earth, INSPIRE kindness, and INSPIRE compassion.

Evie is eager to use her title to continue to mentor through her “Book Buddies” platform.  The 5 points of the USA National Miss national crown symbolize the 5 attributes described in Colossians 3:12: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."

Evie reads books based on these character traits in effort to help others become a better person and develop a love for reading. She is currently writing her own book, entitled Positive Priscilla, in which the character experiences life lessons that revolve around these 5 points on the crown.

Evie says, “I want to publish my book, so that little girls everywhere can read it and feel positively empowered.”

Evie has developed a love of serving in her community through her commitment to UNM. She has led many initiatives such as providing “bunny baskets” full of warm up ready meals, activities, and snacks to the families of patients at the Dwayne and Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital in Savannah. She designed shirts to go along with her platform to use as a fundraiser to raise money for CURE Childhood Cancer.

Evie makes frequent trips to Willow Pond to spend time with the residents and read her Book Buddies books. She participates in activities that also inspire earth, as she has recently adopted two river landings. She is responsible for maintenance and cleaning at these locations twice each month.

Evie says, “The river is a special place to me and my family, so I want to keep it clean for everyone to enjoy.”
