On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Bulloch County NAACP proudly presented the 2025 Miss MLK Scholarship Pageant, an event dedicated to celebrating young women who embody the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with grace, leadership, and excellence. The highly anticipated event recognized three outstanding contestants who demonstrated poise, intellect, and a commitment to service.
Introducing the 2025 Miss MLK Court:
Miss MLK 2025 – Laylah Scarboro, daughter of Tarrasha Scarboro and senior at Statesboro High School
Miss 1909 (First Runner-Up) – Erin Thompson
Miss 1965 (Second Runner-Up) – Eden Chavers
The Miss MLK Scholarship Pageant is more than a competition—it is a platform for young women to develop leadership skills, engage in community service, and inspire others through the values of unity and empowerment.
This year’s contestants showcased their talents, answered thought-provoking questions, and exemplified the essence of Dr. King’s dream.

Throughout the year, the newly crowned Miss MLK Court will engage in various community initiatives, mentorship programs, and leadership opportunities, ensuring that Dr. King's vision of equality and justice remains at the forefront of their mission.
