Join local Bulloch County 4-H and FFA programs on Saturday, June 3rd, as they host their annual low-cost rabies vaccination clinic. This clinic will take place throughout the county, and proceeds will benefit Bulloch 4-H and Future Farmers of America programs at Portal Middle High School, Southeast Bulloch High School, and Statesboro High School. Vaccinations are for cats and dogs, will be $12 apiece, and will be cash or check only.
Rabies is a fatal disease that is preventable by commonly used vaccinations. Dr. Steve Healy, a local veterinarian, will be administering the vaccinations.
According to Dr. Healy, "While rare, the deadly rabies virus is still a problem in Georgia. It is primarily transmitted to your cats and dogs from bites from raccoons, skunks, bats, and foxes. Vaccinating your pet for rabies can protect your pet as well as your family."
Thank you to Dr. Healy for his dedication to the health of our local animals and for volunteering his time for this event! See below for the times and locations.
