McKeithen’s Hardware, in partnership with the True Value Foundation, is providing free health and safety kits to Bulloch Academy and Langston Chapel Middle School. This service is part of the newly created True Value Educational Heroes Safety Campaign.
To ensure the health and safety of students, teachers, administrators and staff at their local schools, McKeithen’s True Value is donating the kits, which include hand sanitizer, KN-95 masks and hand soap.
True Value Keeps Stepping Up
At the beginning of the pandemic, True Value Manufacturing retooled its EasyCare paint production facility in Cary, Illinois. At this facility they produced FDA-approved hand sanitizer and other essential cleaning products. They did this to help meet unprecedented nationwide consumer demand for health and cleaning essentials.
With the success of that effort, the True Value Foundation decided to go even further to address growing public need for these products. As schools reopen the foundation launched the Educational Heroes Safety campaign. Through this campaign, they are focused on helping meet the needs of local schools.
This is a collaborative effort between True Value corporate and its independent retailers. As an independent retailer, McKeithen’s aims to keep America’s kids learning while keeping our frontline educational heroes safe.
McKeithen's is Essential to Our Community
Owner Tom McKeithen said: “My team and I are privileged and honored to be considered an essential industry. We have customers on a daily basis with an urgent need for home repair and maintenance supplies, without which they would sustain further damage and additional repair costs. In addition, with many folks staying at home, they are attending to routine repairs and maintenance that have been put off for a while.”
In the short time since opening, McKeithen’s True Value continues to be a tremendous asset to the community. Since this crisis began, it is easy to see why: their consistency in service and support for Statesboro has been evident.
“We love this community and the way everyone has responded to this situation.” McKeithen concludes. ”We are doing everything we can to continue to have a healthy Statesboro/Bulloch County.”
