Bulloch County Schools to honor Veterans with special programs

Bulloch County Schools are honoring veterans this November with special programs at multiple schools, inviting students, families, and the community to pay tribute to those who have served. From parades to musical performances, each event offers a unique way to celebrate and thank local veterans for their sacrifices.

Bulloch County schools are set to honor local veterans with a series of special events from November 8-11. The community is invited to join in honoring these individuals who have served our country, with events taking place across multiple schools, featuring student performances, music, and patriotic programs.

Mill Creek Elementary School - Veterans Day Parade

On Friday, November 8, Mill Creek Elementary will kick off its 18th Annual Veterans Day Parade at 12:00 noon, in front of the school. The event will begin with a complimentary hotdog lunch for veterans at 11:00 a.m. Veterans planning to attend are asked to RSVP by November 4 by calling 912-212-8780. The parade, featuring performances by Statesboro High School’s marching band, JROTC cadets, and cheerleaders, will include patriotic songs performed by each grade level. In the event of rain, the parade will move indoors to the school’s multipurpose room. 

Julia P. Bryant Elementary School - Veterans Day Program

Julia P. Bryant Elementary will host a Veterans Day program on Monday, November 11, at 8:30 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Local veterans are invited to join students and staff for this commemorative event. 

Brooklet Elementary School - Veterans Day Program

Brooklet Elementary will begin its Veterans Day program on November 11 at 8:00 a.m. in the multipurpose room. The program will feature patriotic music performed by the school’s chorus and students, offering veterans and community members a heartfelt tribute.

Sallie Zetterower Elementary School - Veterans Day Breakfast

Sallie Zetterower Elementary will host its annual Veterans Day Breakfast on November 11, from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria. This event is specially dedicated to students’ family members who are veterans, providing a moment of gratitude over a shared meal.

Langston Chapel Elementary School - Veterans Day Program

Langston Chapel Elementary will hold its Veterans Day program at 9:00 a.m. on November 11 in the multipurpose room, featuring guest speaker Phil Crowley. The program will include patriotic performances and inspirational messages honoring veterans in the community.

Portal Elementary School - Veterans Day Program

Portal Elementary will host its annual Veterans Day program on November 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room. The event will include music, inspirational speeches, and a multigenerational slideshow featuring local veterans and family members of faculty who have served in the military.
