Dana Miles and Carlos Brown won the United Way of Southeast Georgia community-wide raffle on Thursday. The SPRING BLING, to raffle raised over $8,000 to help recover funds lost in workplace campaigns.
Dana Miles won the Louis Vuitton purse donated by Dr. Delan Gains with Optim Orthopedics. Carlos Brown won a 65QT YETI Cooler donated by Andersons General Store.
100% of the funds raised in this raffle will go directly to provide services right here in Bulloch County!

Cary Melton, Executive Director of United Way, recognized local businesses who helped sell the raffle tickets. These included Bleu Blush Boutique, Briggs & Stratton, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Frills by Scott, Great Dane, Heritage Bank, PowDur Salon, RJ Pope, Shane’s Rib Shack, Synovus Bank on Lovett Road, and Viracon.
United Way Making a Difference
We all win when basic needs are met – when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people are healthy and productive members of society. United Way of Southeast Georgia’s mission is to improve the lives of the people in Bulloch County by efficiently raising and allocating funds for programs that meet community needs.
While 2020 was a challenging year for everyone – 2020 showed us the importance of a successful United Way. United Way of Southeast Georgia collaborated with many area nonprofits to provide home delivered meals and groceries to those at high risk or without transportation at the peak of the pandemic. They have worked with The City of Statesboro to provide rental and mortgage assistance to those impacted financially by COVID-19. Many of these residents were laid off from local industrial sites or small businesses and facing eviction or foreclosure.
