5 Statesboro Halloween Events to attend this weekend

Halloween is one of the most memorable and fun times of the year. Dressing up as our favorite characters, carving pumpkins and eating mountains of candy are certainly staples of our fall festivities.  

Here are my top five - don't miss - SPOOKTACULAR events from the Grice Connect Event's Calendar for you and your family to make the most of the last weekend before Halloween. Most events listed are fundraisers for various organizations or families in need. Its a perfect weekend to have fun and support the community.

Movie Night at the YMCA 

Join the YMCA in the evening of Friday October 27th for their movie series for a cause. This week's movie is Nightmare Before Christmas. This event has an entrance fee of $5 and the gates open at 6:00 pm.

 
 

YMCA Trunk or Treat 

The YMCA is full of fun this weekend! The fourth annual Trunk or Treat allows community members the opportunity for safer trick or treating. Last year, 25 community organizations participated, allowing 700+ children to experience the fun of trick or treating while keeping their parent's minds at ease. This event is free to the public.

 

 

Haunted Hospital at the Georgia Southern Williams Center

"Haunted House but make it medical." This hospital themed haunted house takes place in the Williams Center multipurpose room. The Haunted Hospital serves as a fundraiser hosted by Phi Delta Epsilon’s GA Gamma Premedical Chapter. Tickets are $5 online and $7 at the door. 

 

 

Splashy's Spookfest at Splash in the Boro 

If you are looking for all around fun activities, Splashy's Spookfest is definitely your place to be this weekend. Festivities include a costume contest, a pumpkin patch and apple bobbing. The swimming pools and Lazy River will be open! This event is $5 per person. The Haunted Lazy River will be open all weekend starting Friday. It will be $3 to enter the Lazy River.

 

 

Haunted Forest of Statesboro at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds

Open nightly from 8 pm -12 am until Halloween, the Haunted Forest will be raising funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Bulloch County. The Haunted Forest has been a growing traditional around Statesboro since the 1980s. Come for the frights and leave feeling good you supported your local Boys and Girls Club! Tickets are $10 for general admission or $20 for a fast pass to skip the line.

 

 

BONUS: 

Old Farm Day at Anderson's General Store

While not specifically a Halloween event, Old Farm Day is still packed full of fun for the whole family. With games, animals, raffles and "Pumpkin chunkin" there are certainly activities for all ages. This event is free and 100% of raffle tickets will go toward support for Georgia Kate Anderson.
