In the heart of Downtown Statesboro, The Flowergirl has created beautiful floral arrangements and lasting memories for nearly 20 years. Owned by Jackie Phillips, this beloved shop is more than a florist; it’s a community treasure.
The Flowergirl specializes in custom designs, same-day local delivery, and stunning wedding and event florals, making every occasion unforgettable.
Jackie’s journey into the floristry industry came as a surprise. Moving to Statesboro, she hadn’t planned on working with flowers, but a casual lunch with friends introduced her to a couple who owned a flower shop. They invited her for an interview, and right after, she was creating bouquets for a major event at Georgia Southern, quickly falling in love with the art of the floral industry.
After mastering her skills at three florists in Statesboro and gaining extensive experience with wedding planning and floral artistry, Jackie decided to open her own shop. From the beginning, she knew downtown Statesboro was the perfect location.
“I love this community and wanted to be part of all the events and excitement here,” Jackie says.
The name “Flowergirl” carries sentimental significance. It was inspired by the Bridal expo she worked on while at Southern Creations, where her daughter participated in the event as the Flowergirl. As Jackie decorated the flower arrangements, vendors frequently asked, “Where’s that Flowergirl?”, and when it was time to name the shop, the choice felt perfect.

Jackie and her team have made an exclusive selection of bouquets designed to make every Valentine’s Day memorable. Jackie doesn't just showcase her creativity in her breathtaking floral arrangements- her shop's vibrant exterior is a work of art in itself. The colorful decorations and eye-catching details bring life to our community, making every stroll past her store a delightful experience.

“Being part of someone’s most important day is the most rewarding part of it all and I'm so grateful I get to be part of that,” Jackie notes.
