In March of last year producers for Devotion a Sony Pictures movie transformed the Statesboro-Bulloch Airport into a major movie production set.

Movie construction and set design crews constructed a replica of a Korean War era aircraft carrier and brought in some vintage Corsairs airplanes for the filming.

The set was built on an active runway that was temporarily deactivated with FAA approval for the movie filming at the airport. A second dead runway was used to park equipment. That runway was also later leased by the Georgia ports for container storage.

There were star sightings on set and in Statesboro of the movies cast members and stars including Jonathan Majors, Glen Powell, Cristina Jackson, Thomas Sadoski and Joe Jonas.

Many residents of Statesboro and Bulloch County had the opportunity be be extras in the movie while it was being filmed here.
