Georgia Southern's president placed the first U.S. flag in the lawn of Sweetheart Circle Monday morning, the first of over 1000 placed across all three campuses for their armed forces memorial.
Members of the GSU community submitted photos and information of fallen service members to be put on display.
The flags and their photos will remain on display until the first of June, just a couple days past Memorial Day.
