Religious leaders in Bulloch County, who are members of the Bulloch County Ministerial Association, have called for a community wide prayer service tonight, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 6 PM.

The prayer service will be held on the lawn of the Bulloch County Courthouse, located in the center of Statesboro at 2 North Main Street.

The service will remember the victims families in the recent tragic shootings in Buffalo, New York, Irvin, California and yesterday in Uvalde, Texas.

The service will be a brief service with faith leaders who feel we need to come together as a community in this tragic time for our country.

City Flags at Half Staff

Mayor Jonathan McCollar has ordered the flags at City Hall to be flown at half staff through Memorial Day in honor of the victims of the horrific shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, yesterday. Nineteen students and two adults were shot and killed during the school’s last week of classes leading up to summer break.

“Our hearts are heavy and our prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire Uvalde community,” said Mayor McCollar.
