A large crowd came out Tuesday night, October 25, 2021, to Statesboro First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall to view the downtown Statesboro Master Plan draft presentation. This was the second public input meeting held for the master plan.
The City of Statesboro is preparing a master plan to chart a course for the future of Downtown Statesboro, the Blue Mile and the Creek on the Blue Mile. Planning and design consultant firm TSW has been hired by the City of Statesboro to facilitate this process, which will also update the zoning regulations for Downtown Statesboro. The process will last about a year and this meeting was one of multiple opportunities for community input.
The City of Statesboro is preparing a master plan to chart a course for the future of Downtown Statesboro and the Blue Mile. The plan will look at how to attract new businesses and residents, make it easier to walk and find a parking space, encourage appropriate new development, improve greenspaces, and create a true gathering place for the heart of the community.
Woody Giles with TSW presented the draft plan which summarized input received from the public. He presented 11 BIG Ideas which will incorporate the structure for the plan.
