While the daily new COVID cases have seemed to peak, hospitalizations and deaths remain very high.

This is the second year the festival has been cancelled due to COVID.

Here is the statement from the festival committee:

Due to the continued spread of COVID-19, we have communicated regularly with local government agencies regarding options for the upcoming Peanut Festival. After careful consideration, it has been decided that the 32nd Annual Brooklet Peanut Festival originally scheduled for this weekend, September 18. 2021 will be cancelled.

Though we regret this course of action, the health, well-being and safety of our sponsors, vendors, festival attendees, volunteers, performers, and local community members who make our festival what it is year after year have always and will continue to be our hightest priority.

Thanks for your continued support,

The Brooklet Community Development Association, Inc.
