Georgia Police K9 Foundation raised over $150,000 Saturday evening

The Statesboro based Georgia Police K9 Foundation raised over $150,000 at their annual " An Evening with the K9's " fundraiser event on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The fundraiser was held at The Venues on the Ogeechee Technical College campus.

The Statesboro based Georgia Police K9 Foundation raised over $150,000 at their annual "An Evening with the K9's" fundraiser event on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

The fundraiser was held at The Venues on the Ogeechee Technical College campus.

Twenty Five law enforcement K9 units attended from across Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida and Maryland.

Pictured below is event coordinator Tracy Mallary, K9 Jerry Lee and his handler. K9 Jerry Lee was shot on active duty. He unfortunately lost one of his front legs in the shooting. He is one of the K9's the Georgia K9 Foundation are helping with vet bills and aftercare.

The event drew attendees from over 46 states.

According to the event coordinator, Tracy Mallary, there were over 200 silent auction items donated by business both locally and nationally. In addition they had a raffle that included guns, TV’s, and Grills.

Mallary said they have already began the planning for bigger and better 2022 event.”

About the Georgia K9 Foundation

The Georgia K9 foundation is a statewide organization, founded and located in Statesboro.  Statesboro Police Department Corporal Kyle Briley is the President of the Georgia K9 foundation.  Corporal Briley also leads the SPD impact K-9 team.

In addition to leading the annual fundraiser, Tracy Mallary with Statesboro Properties, also serves as Treasurer of the Georgia K9 Foundation Board.
