Not even COVID can keep delicious Girl Scout Cookies away. This week, the Cherry Service Unit opened a "pop up" cookie store at 61 East Main Street, across from GS City Campus in Downtown Statesboro.

The pop up shop was made possible thanks to Elena McLendon with the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority and building owner Lehman Franklin. Working together they provided a great place to store cookie supplies and to allow cookies to be sold in a safe environment.

Mary Boyer, Service Unit Manager for Bulloch has her troop selling cookies this week while they are on spring break from 10 am to 6 pm through Saturday. They will continue selling Girl Scout Cookies on Friday's from 4 pm to 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday's from 10 am to 6 pm through the second week of March.

Grice Connect - Connected Faith to DSDA

Faith Abell reached out to Grice Connect a few weeks ago looking for ideas to set up the cookie store. We connected her with Elena and fortunately she helped them work it out to locate in downtown.

Faith is the Product Manager for the Cherry Service Unit which includes 17 Girl Scout troops in five counties. In addition to Bulloch she covers Candler, Evans, Emanuel and Screven.

This shop was especially important since they are not going to have booths at entrances of popular stores like Walmart and Lowes.

Find the Location Closest to You

They will also be selling cookies in the parking lots of Morris Bank's two locations and the Mall Branch of Synovus on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the second week of March.

They have a cookie locator which will help you find the closest Girl Scout Cookie options to you. You can also purchase cookies online through this link and their units will get credit for the sales.

Cookie Sales Fund the Girls Participation and Activities

Due to health concerns caused by COVID they don't have a lot of troops participating in selling cookies this year. Cookie sales are important and help fund the girls participation and activities.

Faith's troop has been together since Kindergarten, they are now in 7th grade. The girls business has allowed her daughters troop to be self funded since the first year. They've paid for their uniforms, yearly registration, patches, trips, and service projects all themselves through cookie sales.
