The Teal House (aka “Statesboro Regional Sexual Assault & Child Advocacy Center” or “SRSAC”) is making an urgent call for help.
They provides forensic medical exams and forensic interviews, child & victim advocacy, mental health services, 24/7 crisis response, advocacy, and community outreach and education.
The Teal House is designated by the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit and law enforcement agencies to serve Bulloch, Jenkins, Screven, and Effingham Counties. The Teal House also serves survivors from other surrounding counties, including Candler, Toombs, Emanuel, and Evans Counties.
Like many other service organizations that operate on grant funding, has experienced a drastic slowdown in the processing of expense reimbursements, and their grant funds have decreased due to state-wide budget reductions. Furthermore, their fundraising capabilities have all but ceased to a screeching halt. As a result, the critically need monetary donations to meet their financial obligations and maintain operations.
COVID-19 has profoundly impacted our community and will for some time to come. The social implications of COVID-19 have and will lead to an unprecedented number of child victims seeking and receiving services from this organization. Ironically, they are facing significant financial issues at a time when they are needed most.
Any financial contribution made will enable them to continue to provide free, confidential services to all survivors of sexual assault and abuse.
The Board of Directors and staff of the Teal House are eternally grateful for your contributions. These challenging times require that community members come together to ensure that our services remain available when we are most vulnerable.
