Veterans Day, November 11th falls on Sunday this year so the community began celebrating Thursday night and will continue with celebrations through Monday.

The annual community wide celebration will be held Saturday morning, November 10th in the Emma Kelly Theater downtown.  Doors open at 9:30 with the program with the program beginning at 10:30.  Entertainment by Jack Kindig & The Music Messengers.

Robert “Bobby” Babot, an Iraq Veteran will serve as the keynote speaker.  Babot served 37 years with the Army National Guard.

Friday morning, Bi-Lo Statesboro hosted a breakfast honoring local Veterans.

Statesboro Fire Department installed the memorial crosses on the courthouse square again this year as a reminder of the sacrifices so many Bulloch County hero’s gave to insure our freedom.

Many restaurants and local businesses will be offering discounts and product to Veterans.  Here is a link to the list of national chains offering discounts.
