It's a question many Statesboro residents and area visitors have been asking since the chain's opening earlier this year: Where exactly is Huey Magoo’s located?
Is it in front of Publix? Across from Tormenta Stadium? At Eagles Corner Shopping Center?
And the answer: All of the above are correct!
Statesboro’s newest restaurant, Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders, opened this spring and has quickly become a favorite of residents on the south side and throughout the city. It is the 63rd and most recent store opened by the Orlando, Florida corporation, and Statesboro’s location is nestled in the rapidly growing retail district just south of the Georgia Southern campus and the Bypass. Located at 141 Tormenta Way, the restaurant is easily accessible.
Known as “The Filet Mignon of Chicken,” Huey Magoo’s Statesboro is a fast-casual restaurant which features an outdoor patio and double drive-thru. They offer dine-in, takeout, delivery and catering of their hand-breaded or grilled chicken tenders, wraps, sides, salads and desserts.
Catering Services
River Scarborough Green and her sister, Casey Pope, manage Huey Magoo’s Statesboro. “It’s been an exciting and busy summer,” River said, when asked her impressions of the last few months since opening the restaurant. “A highlight for me has been promoting our catering services. We offer a diverse selection of complete and pre-selected menus, as well as a la carte, ‘Create Your Own,’ personally crafted meals. With back-to-school socials, football tailgating and holiday events just around the corner, we expect a busy and fun Fall!”
Party Packs of chicken tenders and wraps are available in pre-selected quantities of chicken or wraps, dips & sauces, sides, Texas Toast, iced tea/lemonade and dessert. In addition, you can create your own personalized meal with chicken tender platters and a wide variety of snack wraps, salads, various sides, breads and desserts.
Huey Magoo's and the Community
Already, Huey Magoo’s Statesboro is reaching out to the Bulloch County community. It is very involved with Chamber of Commerce activities and has stepped forward with sponsorships at Georgia Southern University and the GSU Eagles football team.
Franchise leader Tom Scarborough, a Statesboro native, said, “We are thrilled to finally open in Statesboro after waiting a few years for this to happen.” He continued, “…we are especially excited to be a part of it being both my hometown and where I attended college.”
Other plans for this fall include a series of events designed for children. The first of these will feature Halloween fun for the kids with free stickers, coloring and painting activities and Trick or Treat handouts for both dine-in and drive-thru customers. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, from 5 to 7 pm.
