Statesboro just got a little bit sweeter with the grand opening of Sugar Polish on Sunday, August 17, a new nail salon promising luxury pampering, vacation vibes, and some sweet treats along the way.
The new salon soft held a soft opening earlier that week on Tuesday, giving Lisa Nguyen and her team a chance to settle into the new space and smooth out a few bumps before officially cutting the golden ribbon at Sunday's grand opening. After having worked a decade in the nail industry, this moment marked a long-awaited dream come true for Nguyen.

Sugar Polish offers a full range of nail services—including acrylics, gel X, dip and builder gel—but Nguyen said the real difference comes in the pedicures. Treatments feature more steps and special ingredients than other salons, plus extras like massage guns for blood stimulation. Each service ends with a hot towels, an extra touch that gives this salon a real "princess treatment" feel to it.
Adding to the already plentiful experience, there's also a built-in bar featuring colorful mocktails, boba tea, and small snacks to munch on, allowing guests to kick back and relax as if they were on a real vacation.

The opening also carries a family connection—Nguyen's cousin, Kally Giang, of Annie’s Nails, one of Statesboro's most established and popular salons. Nguyen worked at Annie's Nails for a couple years before striking out her own, starting construction around March of 2025.
From luxurious pedicures to delicious mocktails, Sugar Polish offers every client the pampering and relaxation they deserve, serving as a sweet escape in the heart of Statesboro.
Looking ahead, Nguyen hopes Sugar Polish will quickly become a favorite in town, right alongside Annie’s Nails.
