ATLANTA, Ga. – The Georgia Southern baseball team fell in a midweek road contest to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 11-7, on Tuesday night. With the win, Georgia Tech swept the season series.

Georgia Southern (14-15) jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning with a Noah Ledford solo shot to center field, taking a quick 1-0 lead. However, Georgia Tech (18-11) responded with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. In the top of the second inning, the Eagles took a 4-2 lead with a three-run jack from JD Kaiser, who made his first appearance in six games.

The Eagles held the lead until the bottom of the third inning, when the Yellow Jackets scored three, including two home runs, to take a 5-4 lead after three frames. Georgia Tech broke the game open with a four-run bottom of the fifth inning which included another HR by Georgia Tech. Tech added two more in the bottom of the sixth to take a 11-4 lead.

In the top of the seventh inning, Kaiser had his second homer of the day with a knock to left field that just snuck over the outfield wall. Jarrett Brown followed that up with a two-run homer to right center field, scoring Jesse Sherrill as well to cut the lead to 11-7, but the Yellow Jackets would add two more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to lock down a 13-7 win.
