Georgia Southern women's tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honoree for the eighth straight year, while seven Eagles earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, announced today by the organization.
ITA All-Academic Teams are awarded to Division I schools that maintain a 3.20 GPA or better for the entire year, while ITA Scholar-Athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or better for the year.
Georgia Southern women's tennis carried a department-best 3.77 GPA for the 2022-23 academic year, earning the All-Academic Team honor for the eighth straight year and 14th year overall.
Individually, seven Eagles earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors - graduate student Liv Ryan, senior Paula Hijos, juniors Silvia Martinez and Lindsay Tulenko and freshmen Nanaka Kijima, Ninon Martinache and Ana Tsitavets. It's the second time over the last three seasons that the Eagles have had seven student-athletes earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
