Mrs. Vonnie Mauney, 91, passed away at her daughter’s home on September 29, 2024.
Mrs. Vonnie was born in Rutherfordton, NC, to the late Ralph and Tanie Mode. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sylvania and a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. She loved to travel, play rummy, going to eat at Carey Hilliard's, but most of all attending sporting events to watch all of the grands play.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Mauney, her parents, and her brother, Bill Mode.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Mauney, Rita (Jay) Brinson, her grandchildren, Stephanie (Shawn) Marsh, all of Sylvania, GA, Jason Brinson, of Atlanta, and Ryan (Jennifer) Mauney, of Madison, her great-grandchildren, Hayden Cheney, Blake Cheney, Colten Marsh, Abigail Marsh, Riley Mauney, Charleston Mauney, Grayson Mauney, and Olivia Martin, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Screven County Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11:00am with Rev. Clint Sheppard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith Sunday School Class.
