April 28, 1952 - November 30, 2024
Sherrish Danielle Caulfield (Diane Nesmith), affectionately known as Danni, passed away on November 30, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving behind a legacy of vibrant spirit and unforgettable presence. Born on April 28, 1952, in Statesboro, Georgia, Danni lived most recently in Twin City, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Mae Aycock Hendrix, father, Dexter Allen Nesmith, and brothers, Dennis Coleman Nesmith and Terrell Allen Nesmith.
She is lovingly remembered by her surviving family: brother Marlin C. Nesmith, wife Sharon, brother Michael Leland Nesmith(Mickey), wife Penny, sister June Alice Evans, husband Roger, daughter Tracy Lynn Worth, husband Phil and son John Henry Schmidt Jr., wife Tina, her grandchildren, Ashli, Chase, Hunter, Walker, John III and Abigail, several great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.
Danni grew up in Georgia, where she graduated from Portal High School. Her journey then led her to North Carolina, where she attended Sherrill’s University of Barber and Cosmetology, graduating with the skills that would become her lifelong passion. As a practitioner her enthusiasm for hair and fashion was nothing short of inspiring. She had a way of transforming her art into a reflection of her spirited personality, leaving an indelible impression on all those she encountered. To have known Danni was certainly an experience. Her bubbly nature and distinctive character made her someone who stood out in any crowd. Proudly opinionated and unapologetically herself, she dressed with a flair that was as unique as her personality. Danni was a woman who lived by her own rules, creating a life that truly matched her colorful nature. The memories and shared experiences speak volumes of the profoundly impact she had on others.
In honoring her memory, there will be no formal services at this time. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, where her infectious spirit can be celebrated in the manner she so deserves. Her family and friends, including her niece Brandie, who proudly claims the best parts of Danni live on in her, will gather to share stories and laughter, remembering a life that was incredibly unique and personally impactful.
The legacy of Sherrish Danielle Caulfield is that of a timeless spirit who will never be forgotten, and who was and is loved by so many. As we reflect on her life, may we find solace in the words of Psalm 34:18, "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." These words remind us of the peace and comfort that faith can bring during times of loss and remembrance.
