Ms. Sharon R. Madden, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah surrounded by her family. Ms. Madden was born in Hinesville, Georgia on September 13, 1946. She attended Bradwell Institute High School and later worked as a property manager and real estate agent for 40 plus years and retired with Century 21 Action Realty, in Hinesville. Sharon enjoyed the beach, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Sam and Mary Ray, of Hinesville, her brothers, Sam P. Ray of Waycross and Ben Ray of Hinesville, her sister, Erline Jacobson of Atlanta, and Grandson, Dylan Griffin of Gray, Georgia.
She is survived by her daughters, Dena (Chris) Colson and Lori Madden, both of Statesboro. She was Grammy to 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild; Devin, Haley, Charlie, Carly, Jackson, and Lily; 3 sisters, June, Betty, and Irene and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon’s wishes were to have a Celebration of Life rather than a memorial service which will be held at a later date. The family requests that a plant or tree be planted in her memory, her favorite bush was the Rose of Sharon, or a memorial contribution be sent to the Republican National Committee.
