Mrs. Paula Marie Horn, age 64, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia.
Paula was born on September 22, 1960. She attended Worthington High School in Worthington, Ohio and went to college for a design degree. She lived in Columbus, Ohio (Go Bucks) for many years near her family. She reunited with her longtime friend, Mike Horn and later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia with Mike and her daughter, Courtney. There she worked in interior design and also spent time at home for several years being active in her community and spending time with her friends and family. Paula and Mike married on October 16, 1999.
Paula enjoyed exercise, shopping, and decorating, but more than anything she loved spending time with her husband, daughter and son-in-law, and her two grandchildren who she loved more than anything in the world. In 2015, Paula and her husband Mike moved to Statesboro, Georgia to be closer to their grandchildren. They eventually opened their furniture store, Savannah Home Consignment Furniture and Decor, which was named after their granddaughter, Savannah Hayes. She loved the community where she lived and enjoyed visiting her daughter, son in-law, and grandchildren as much as possible in Savannah, Georgia. Paula will be remembered for being kind, a bright light, talented, and a true blessing to anyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, John F Oswald, and her sister Leslie Oswald Akers.
She is survived by her mother, Gainger Oswald, her sisters (Judith and Cath), brothers (Jon, Kurt and Bruce), her husband Michael M Horn, her daughter Courtney Brown (Matt) her grandchildren, Savannah Hayes and Liam, and many nieces and nephews and other family members.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00am at St Matthew Catholic Church in Statesboro with Father Firmin and Father Adams officiating.
Interment will be held at Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Oswald, Jon Oswald, Andy Horn, Skyler Jones, Clint Smith, and John Forbes.
