Mrs. Nita Williams Scruggs, age 94 entered into Eternal Life on February 15, 2023, with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Nita was born on December 15, 1928 to Wadie & Carlton Williams of Bulloch County. Nita was a beautiful, humble, devoted and, most importantly, Godly woman that loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband O’Dell Scruggs, and siblings Twin Sister Frieda Williams, Jack Williams, Fred Williams, Kelly Williams, Mary Lee Tyson, Elizabeth McNanara & Gwendolyn Hazellief.
Nita is survived by daughter, Belinda Dowd, granddaughters, Krystina & Jennifer Dowd, a grandson-in-law, Alvin Hamilton, stepdaughter, Jennifer Overby, and stepson, Jimmy (Andrea) Scruggs, and her great-grandchildren, Kendrick Dowd, Jayda Dowd, Prince Dowd, and Jordan Cribbs. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles (Roseann) Williams of Brooklet Ga, James (Juanita) Williams of Hortense, Ga, Richard (Blanche) Williams of Okeechobee, FL, Jerry (Debbie) Williams Middleburg, FL, and her sister, Joann (Robert) Brooks of Afton, TN. Many nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren she loved dearly also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 13th, from 12:00 until 1:00pm at Lanes Primitive Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 1:00pm with Rev. Micah Ellington officiating.
Interment will be in the Lanes Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
