Mary Sue Collins, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

She was one of the seven children born to Rufus “Buck” Collins and Eva Mae Hendrix Collins. She was raised in Candler and Tattnall County and graduated from Metter High School in 1965.

She went on to enjoy a very successful career spanning over 30 years in the financial and banking industry. She celebrated many milestones at First Bulloch Bank in Statesboro, retiring from her position as bank officer with BB&T in 2011.

She loved to travel, and she had an eye for style. She could often be found strolling the mall in her spare time. She perfected the art of Black Friday shopping long before the internet and rarely missed a good sale!

She will be remembered by many for her servant’s heart. She was an active member of various civic groups through the years. She devoted countless hours to her communities.

A faithful member of Cobbtown Baptist Church, she served in virtually every position from secretary/treasurer to Sunday School teacher/director and VBS Director. She had a special place in her heart for kids of all ages and never missed an opportunity to spoil them all; especially her nieces and nephews! Her genuine love for others was never more evident than seeing her with her family.

Moving back home later in life, she became the primary care giver for her parents, which allowed her plenty of opportunity to keep her brothers in line as well. She rarely missed a family gathering and genuinely enjoyed simply spending time together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Alice Collins Fields, Virginia Ann Collins Hart and three Brothers-In-Law, Homer Fields, James Hart and Mel Mock.

Left to cherish her precious memory, a sister and primary caregiver, Willette Mock; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buddy (Melita) Collins, Danny Ray (Debby) Collins and Larry Dean (Betty Jo) Collins; special companion, Keith Harvey and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 27, 2024 at11:00 AM at Cobbtown Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Moore and Reverend Walter Leverette officiating.
