Margaret Elizabeth (Scott) Wilkerson

Margaret Elizabeth Scott Wilkerson, age 90, of Detroit, MI passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born on January 26, 1932, in the Denmark Community of Bulloch County, Georgia to the late James and Lizzie Jane Jasper Scott. She was the oldest of nine children. She attended school at, and was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church.

At the age of 19, she united in marriage to Eugene Wilkerson where they decided to make Detroit, Michigan their home. There she became a lifelong member of the St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church until her passing. Margaret was a homemaker who loved plants. She was an excellent cook and gardener and a beloved member of her family, church, and community. She was a joy to be around and absolutely loved a good laugh and having fun with her family and friends!

On December 29, 2022, God called Margaret home. Her husband Eugene, their children, Patricia and Larry, and her siblings, Cassie Ruffin, James Scott Jr., Alice Birdsong, Mary Lee Simon, and Shirley Ann Scott, all precede her in death. Those left to remember her with love are two sisters, Morer Bolds and the Rev. Jean Owens (Rev. Frankie Sr.); a brother, John Ashley Scott, three grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and her longtime friend, Mary Parrish.

A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held in the Ollie B. Holland Memorial Chapel at the Matthew H. Lovett and & Son's Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Frankie Owens, Sr., pastor of Word of God Fellowship Church as Eulogist. Rev. Jean Owens is the presiding minister.

Final disposition was done by cremation.
