Lola Mae Busby, born on October 23, 1958, to the late Mr. Birdell and Mrs. Lucille Busby Sr. in Sylvania, Georgia, passed away on March 18, 2025, in Statesboro, Georgia.
Lola Mae graduated from Statesboro High School and worked various jobs throughout her life. She enjoyed playing sports with her nieces and nephews, including basketball, tennis, and kickball. Lola was outdoorsy, adventurous, and always seeking new experiences. She was a caring individual, always willing to help others. She had a deep love for the Lord and was a devoted member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, remaining faithful in her beliefs throughout her later years.
Lola Mae is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Birdell Busby Jr. and Tommy Lee Busby Sr., and her nephew Bernard Busby.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two brothers, both of Statesboro, Georgia: Bobby Busby Sr. (Ernestine) and William Busby Sr. (Lula Mae); two sisters, both of Sylvania, Georgia: Louisiana (Busby) Holmes and Mattie (Levon) Clifton; two sisters-in-law, both of Statesboro, Georgia: Annie Pearl Busby and Glenda Busby; one uncle of Lawton, Oklahoma, William M. Bryant; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever remember her warmth and kind spirit.
Lola Mae will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
A graveside service to honor Lola Mae will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery in Sylvania, Georgia.
