Linda Marie Peavy Lee, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born on October 12, 1944 in Sylvania, GA, and was the youngest of six children.
Linda was a kind and gentle soul who always put others before herself. She showed this time and time again throughout her life. She would do anything she could do to help those she loved. Linda loved fully, without holding back.
When you think of Linda, you think about how much she loved all children, especially her grandchildren. She loved them more than anything in the world. She was always there for them and knew just how to put a smile on their faces. She loved to read to them, play games with them, and share stories.
Linda was also a devout Christian. She loved Jesus with all her heart, and she lived her life according to His teachings. She was a role model for her family and friends, and she always showed them the importance of love, compassion, and empathy. Linda will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her, and she will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, love, and faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John C., Jr. and Marie Dickey Peavy; husband, Clifford Lee; son, Bruce Allen Jenkins; sister, Elaine Peavy Parrish; and a brother, Jack Calvin Peavy.
Linda is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Jenkins of Dickson, TN, Craig and Wendy Jenkins of Lincolnton, and Tina Jenkins of Sylvania; grandchildren, Joey (Lindsay) Jenkins, Taylor Widener, Cody Widener, Colby and Callie Jenkins, Dalton Jenkins, Ethan Jenkins; great-grandchild, Sophie Jenkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Albert and Judy Peavy, William and Betty Peavy, Wendell and Martha Peavy, and Marily Sheppard Peavy, all of Sylvania; and her heart children, Lydia, Scarlett, Allie, and many others.
A funeral service will be held at Double Heads Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM with BJ Horne officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Double Heads Baptist Church Cemetery.
