September 17, 1999 — August 23, 2024

Johnathan Wayne Vreeland entered this world on September 17, 1999 at Liberty Regional Medical Center, Hinesville Ga. His lungs were not yet fully developed and was promptly transported by Lifestar to the neonatal unit at Memorial Health Center in Savannah where he spent the next 6 weeks in incubation until he was strong enough to be brought to his home in Hinesville. During the next 18 months of his life, he fought off various respiratory illnesses. His education started at the United Methodist Pre-K and ended at Georgia Southern University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Science degree, specializing in Multi-media & Film Production.

He was a life-long member of the Hinesville First Baptist Church. At the age of eleven, Bryan Steele took him under his wing, working in the sound booth, where Johnathan’s passion for media production was realized. He spent the remainder of his school years helping Bryan in the sound booth and eventually was able to manage the services on his own. He was a great asset to Pastor Roy Broughman during the Covid-inspired “Drive-In” church services, and to Mrs. Stacy Broughman, helping her with VBS activities.

While attending college, he worked part-time with Foundry Broadcasting as a radio talk show co-host and sportscaster, covering GSU and high-school football games.

Shortly after graduating from GSU, Johnathan married his high-school sweetheart, Emani Thomas, and they both worked part-time at the Hinesville Applebee’s. In August of 2023, Johnathan and Emani moved to Atlanta where he worked full-time at Soliant, a medical care professional staffing agency. Then, in August of 2024, another full-time job opportunity became available at Foundry Broadcasting, where he worked as the Sales & Marketing Manager. Once again, he was also hired as a sportscaster, this time for the Bulloch Academy Gators. He had finally achieved his dream of working in radio.

Johnathan Wayne Vreeland departed this world to be with God on August 23, 2024. He was loved and will be missed by many.
