Mr. James “Jim” W. Logan, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, February 6, 2024, in Statesboro, GA. He was surrounded by family, the caring staff of Southern Manor Assisted Living and Regency Southern Hospice.
Jim was born in Savannah, GA, on November 24, 1942, and lived in Savannah most of his life. He graduated from Benedictine Military School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. Jim retired early from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to become the President of Logan Supply, Inc., in Savannah.
Jim was married to his wife, Alice Logan, for 54 years. Together they owned and managed many rental properties in Savannah and Statesboro, GA. He was a great baseball player in his younger years and enjoyed playing in men’s softball leagues as he got older. In his later years, he enjoyed watching sports on TV and watching his daughters and grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed traveling to many different countries and several different states with his family and friends. He attended First Baptist Church of the Islands where he was an active member of his Sunday School Class and sang in the church choir.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jane Logan, and his wife, Alice Logan. He is survived by his three daughters, Alicia Collins (Charlie), Jamie Crabtree, Terri Gunningham (Brian), seven grandchildren, and his sister, Vienna Ellzey.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Bulloch Memorial Gardens, 22002 U.S. Highway 80 East, Statesboro, GA 30461.
