Mr. Gregory Alan Woods, 43, of Newington, GA passed Sunday, March 5, 2023 in Savannah, GA.
Greg was born in Statesboro, GA to Sylvia Caithaml and Ashley Woods. He grew up in Beaufort, SC, where he attended Mossy Oaks Elementary, Lady’s Island Middle, and Battery Creek High Schools. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Beaufort and loved art, drawing, and listening to music. In the summer he enjoyed swimming in the creeks and beaches of the Carolinas and being outdoors. Greg loved walking and was revered as a free spirit. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Loucille and Reginald Woods of Newington; and his sister, Allison Woods of Beaufort.
He is survived by his parents, Sylvia and Ashley Woods of Newington, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Tiffany Woods, a nephew, Ashton Woods, all of Seabrook, SC; uncles and aunt, Charles Woods of Statesboro, GA and, Sue and Dale Kohr of Alford, FL; and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 3:00pm in the Screven Chapel of Joiner Anderson with Rev. Dr. Karen Zeigler officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held at Newington City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Futch, Charlie Hutto, and Owen Woods.
