Gracie M. Mincey

Ms. Gracie M. Mincey, age 71, passed into rest, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

The native of Statesboro Georgia was the daughter of the late Willie "President" and Nora Pryor Mincey.

She received her formal education in the Bulloch County School System.

Ms. Mincey was a former employee of the Bulloch County Board of Education and worked as a cook at Julia P. Bryant School and Mattie Lively School until retirement in 2001. She also worked for R.J. Seafood and Steaks for many years.

She was a dedicated member of the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she served as president of the Kitchen Committee, president of the youth department, and served in the church choir and youth choir.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Virgil Herrington; brothers, Delnore Reliford, John Cummings, Moses Mincey and Leroy Mincey.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Ron (Veronica) Christian, Macon, GA and Jelisa Richards, Statesboro, GA; two brothers, George Mincey and Larry (Beatrice) Mincey, both of Statesboro, GA; two sisters, Linda (Samuel) Watson, Fairborn, OH and Georgia Hayton, Statesboro, GA; a sister-in-law, Barbara Mincey; four grandchildren, Monique Christian, Ronald Christian, Andre’ Christian and Mila Littles; a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing for Ms. Mincey will be held, 4 pm to 7 pm, Friday, March 3, 2023, at the funeral home.

The funeral service for Ms. Grace Mincey will be held 2 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Woodson, officiating. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery.

Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
