George Clifford Coleman

George C. Coleman, age 94, of Sylvania, Georgia, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and husband, passed away Wednesday, October 3 after a short stay at Ogeechee Area Hospice.

George was a long time resident of Lake Worth, Florida before moving back to Sylvania, Georgia in July 2012.

George was predeceased by his first wife Loretta Coleman (2005), and his eldest daughter Patricia Durborow (2010) and is survived by his second wife, Mildred Bragg Coleman.

George served with distinction and honor for 30+ years in the USAF primarily as a Special Agent for the Office of Special Investigation (OSI), including a tour of duty in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, George served as an Investigator for the Department of Defense for 10+ years.

George was very outgoing and personable and he could have a conversation with anyone he has just met and make them feel like a lifelong friend.

George will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Mildred Bragg Coleman, surviving children, Raymond, George (Teri) Coleman, Bobby (Carol) Coleman, Claudia (Alan) Hogan, and Denise (Don) Winegardener, stepdaughter Eileen (John) Parker, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the Joiner Anderson Screven.

The service will begin promptly at 3:00 PM in the chapel.

George will be entombed with his first wife, Loretta, at our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, in Royal Palm Beach, Florida following the services in Georgia.
