Ms. Mary Linda Evans passed away in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the age of 83.
She was born on August 3, 1941to James Hezekiah Jr., and Mary May Evans, and raised in Sylvania, GA.
She graduated from Screven County High School Class of 1957. Linda then attended the University of Georgia and Wesleyan College. After college she began working at Delta Air Lines on September 19, 1966 until she retired. Linda lived in Atlanta, Georgia until her retirement, at which time she moved to St. Augustine, Florida and later St. Johns, Florida. Linda was also a member of Historic Grace Methodist Church in St. Augustine, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her special friend, Bob Johnson, and their beloved pup, Mac.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Leslie Roberts Hungerford, her special cousin, Mack Donald Jamerson and his wife, Joyce, her special caregiver and friend, Stacy Johnson, and many other cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Ralph Dixon officiating.
