Mrs. Carolyn McCraw Williams, 84, passed away on August 5, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Galax, NC to the late Maude Elizabeth Simpson and Arnold McCraw. Upon her graduation from high school, she obtained her associate degree in nursing assistance. She was employed with St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA. In her career she was a certified nurse assistant as well as a home health nurse. She practiced nursing for 25 years until her retirement. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards, but most of all she loved serving the Lord. Carolyn was of the Pentecostal faith, and an avid member of the Church of God.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Williams, a step-son Bobby Williams, Jr; a daughter Pamela Sue Williams, and a Granchild, Thomas Preston Inman. A brother, Harold McCraw; brothers/sisters-in-law, Ronnie/Sue Williams, Bubba/Jackie Williams, Boots Williams.
Survivors include children and their spouses, Sikinda Lee Williams Thompkins of Mt. Airy, NC, Michael Stephen "Casey" and Bobbi Williams of VA, Katrinka Ann "Penny" and Jeff Rinehart of Mt. Airy, NC, Woodrow Stansbury "Gus" Williams of AL. Grandchildren: Kerry Rochelle and Ronald "Rabbit" Shore, Alex and Tesla Harden of Mt. Airy, NC; Renee and Dana Waters of Sylvania, Ga; Mitchell and Nikki Kemp of Mt. Airy, NC, Tabatha Ann Noonkester and Dana Marie Temperle of Mt. Airy, NC; Micheal Stephen II and Jenn Williams of Statesville, NC; Lisa Marie and Tim Jones of NC, Charity Hope Williams of OR; Sylvester Craig Williams and Stewart Stanley, both of NC Great Grandchildren: Hannah Lillian and Jodie Stanley of Mt. Airy, NC; Erica Renee Sheley, Pamela Lee Ann Sheley and Joseph "JB" Burke of Sylvania, Ga; Zander and Zayah Harden of Mt. Airy, NC, Abagail and Breanna Kemp of Mt. Airy, NC. Great great Grandchildren: Luna Juna Payne of Mt. Airy, NC Bobby "BUG" Dye and Cameron "BISCUIT" Burke of Sylvania, GA. Brother/Sister-in-law: Billy and Ann Williams of Sylvania, GA. Nieces and Nephews: Glenda Underwood, Lea and Randy Williams, Sonya Williams-Pratt, Sidney Lloyd, Summer Williams Patterson, Kamala and Jay Neurath, James Robert Williams Jr, Randall and Sam Williams, Shania and Brandon Smith and a step-sister, Norma Smith.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August, 10th, at 2:00pm in the Williams Family Cemetery with Rev. Jay Akin officiating.
