November 29, 1947  -  July 20, 2024

Carol Elaine Millsap, 76, of Sylvania passed away Saturday morning at Optim Medical Center in Screven County.

Elaine was born the oldest daughter to the late Harry Tell and Virginia Arrington Hodges in Savannah, GA.

The long time native of Screven County grew up attending North Newington Baptist Church. When the family moved to Sylvania, she became a long-standing member of First Baptist Church. The Lord and the Church were a staple in her life and the lives of her family. She was a graduate of Screven County High School in 1966 and later obtained a degree in nursing in 1969 from Swainsboro Technical College. She began her career at the Candler Telfair Hospital and continued to serve patients throughout the southeast in several additional medical facilities.

After retiring from healthcare, she began working as a sales associate for Belk. She loved her 13 years there, where she built a rapport and lifelong friendships with her many customers. After retirement from Belk, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cats, and became an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

She is survived by her sons, Joel (Amy) Millsap and Brian Millsap; grandchildren, Henry and Hayden Millsap, all of Savannah; sisters, Marsha H. Chastain of Sautee Nacoochee, GA and Rachel Hodges of Sylvania; brother, Kerry (Lisa) Hodges of Sylvania; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Matthew) Conklin, Michael (Stormee) Newton, Hillary (James) Dixon, and Matt Hodges; great-nieces and nephews, Savannah and Journey Conklin, Makenzie and Micah Newton, Ethan and Jase Dixon; and dear friend Mickie Odom.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Sylvania with Dr. Charlie Cooper and Rev. Clint Sheppard officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to the service.
