Bonnie Fay Wise Gay, age 89, passed away on January 3rd 1935, at her home in Statesboro under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Bonnie was born on March 18th 1935 in Arcola, GA to the late Levi Brantley Wise and Myrtle NeSmith Wise. She grew up in the Arcola area of Bulloch County and attended school in Brooklet. Bonnie worked for many years as a bank teller, most primarily at First Bulloch Bank and BB&T, until her retirement from Truist. She was a member at First Baptist Church Statesboro and the Alathian Sunday School Class. Bonnie enjoyed crochet and knitting, genealogy, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Lorien Ray Gay, and her siblings, Jesse Wise, Ethel Bolton, Elva Metz, and Preston Wsie.

She is survived by her daughter, Regina Gay Harrison, her grandsons, William Boan and Jacob Boan (fiancé Desiree Brantley), and her great-grandchildren, Azn Boan and June Boan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family gives special thanks to the staff of Ogeechee Area Hospice for their wonderful care in Mrs. Bonnie’s final days.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday January 7th from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00pm at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. John Waters officiating.
