Robert L Humphries Jr., 73, transitioned on Thursday January 9, 2025.
Robert was born on Tuesday November 4, 1952, in Statesboro, Georgia to Robert L. Humphries Sr. and Alice Humphries.
Robert spent most of her childhood and early adulthood in Statesboro, Georgia. He attended William James High School and while in High School, he played in the marching band. In his senior year, Statesboro integrated, and he graduated from Statesboro High School in 1970. Upon graduation, he received a scholarship to attend Savannah State College, majoring in music.
In 1970, he met the love of his life, Truwanda Lovett, and they married on January 18, 1972, unto this union they had four children.
Robert had a passion for music. He was an amazing saxophonist traveling around the world playing in several music bands.
In 1977 Bishop Humphries accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior in Hollywood Fla.; upon returning to Georgia, Bishop Humphries united with Christ Tabernacle United Church of God in Christ under the spiritual leadership of Bishop Spencer Lackey. He served faithfully as a member of the Lord’s Musicians, The Sanctuary Choir and the Male Chorus. He was first called to be a Deacon, and then a Minister. In 1984 he received his Elder’s license to preach the gospel.
In the early 80’s, SanTru Records was created out of a friendship with James Lackey. The two friends became Revelation Generation recording artists, and they began to produce groups such as Cooling Waters, The Anointed Voices, & David Hudson. He continued faithfully to serve the Lord and in May 2001 he founded Info Life Ministry. Out of this came Info Life Coalition Ministries and The Online Gospel Network. As the Lord continued to empower him in September 2002, he became founder and Pastor of Info Life Church.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Alice Humphries, his siblings, Queen Daniels and Richard Roberts, his children, Cassandra & Tonio Humphries Sr., and his Daughters-In-Love, Tamikia Lampley-Humphries and LaShonda Miller-Humphries.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Truwanda Humphries, two sons, Robert & Trujuan Humphries; two daughters-in-love, Lanatta & Nnena Humphries, a sister, Barbara Allen, fifteen grandchildren, Tonio Jr, Lania, Ke’Juan, Laiana, Lalia, Malysa, Zaria, J’Den, Mariyah, Amara, Cris’tain, Nyannah, DaVion, Talor, & Therron Humphries; five great grandchildren, Justice, Trelin, Tonio III, Rylan, and Dakarie Humphries; five sisters-in-love, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Robert's legacy of faith, music, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A viewing and visitation for Robert Humphries will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, starting at 2 P.M. followed by family visitation from held from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.
A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
