Mrs. Barbara Bassett, 85, of Sylvania, GA, passed away Tuesday evening, December 10, 2024, at Optim Medical Center Screven.
Barbara was born on October 29, 1939. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and would always strike up a conversation with anyone. Barbara also was excellent and sewing and embroidering, as well as knitting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Bassett and Ruby Mock Bassett; sisters, Carolyn Sheley, Evelyn Lewis, Joann Bassett Owens and Joyce Moore; brother, Gene Bassett; brother-in-law, Tillman Owens.
She is survived by a special nephew, Timmy Joe and Regina B. Owens, of Sylvania, a special friend, Patti Boddiford, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Timmy Joe Owens, Trenton Owens, Tyler Owens, Ricky Lewis, Tim McIlrath, and Andy Robbins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Joiner Anderson Screven with Rev. Dr. Karen Zeigler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
