Anita Babb Johnson, age 70, of Statesboro, GA made the journey to her forever home with our Lord and Savior on Friday, February 14th of 2025. She was a cancer survivor and battled other health problems for most of her life. In the early 90's she moved to reside in Columbus, Ga. to be closer to her mother and sisters. In 2021 she returned to Statesboro to live out her final years. Anita was a loving and nurturing Mother and Homemaker. She built an extensive clientele, by word of mouth, with her talents and skills as a seamstress in Statesboro. She attended and sang in the choir at Fletcher Memorial and later Eastern Heights Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Babb, and son James Johnson.
She is survived by her son, William Eric and his wife Lyndsay Beseau Johnson of Statesboro, her grandchildren; William Codi and his wife Kaitlyn Johnson of Portal, and Lilly and Claire Johnson of Statesboro, her great-grandchildren; Blakely, Rowan, and Jameson Johnson of Portal, her sister Paulette Babb Briggs, and her brother William Wallace Babb II.
Throughout her life she remained strong in her faith and maintained a kind and compassionate spirit that will be dearly missed by any of the lives she touched.
A memorial visitation of family and friends to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday March 1st from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
