This Saturday, August 31, 2024, ZeroGravity Outreach, a locally-based extreme sports missionary organization is hosting AtmosphereX at Splash in the Boro's Wavepool from 8pm to 10pm. The event is FREE and open to the public. Gates will open at 7:30pm.
ZeroGravity Outreach works to bring together their message of the Gospel as well as their love for God, people, motorcycles, drift cars, incredibly loud music, and extreme sports in an effort to minister to people who may not approach a traditional church or ministry organization, according to founder Tim Wilkinson.
According to their website, the event will bring "Lights, Lasers, EDM, Hip Hop, Rap, Rock, Remixes, Hope, Faith, Love, Live DJs, and tons of fun!" to Splash in the Boro's Wavepool on its the final weekend of normal summer operations for the year.
"AtmosphereX is a rave-hybrid experience that brings and audio visual overload all giving glory and honor to God," explains their website.
ZeroGravity organizers call these events AtmosphereX because they are designed to change the atmosphere in whatever area they take place. The letter X represents the Greek symbol for Christ, which "represents the intersection of our lives and Jesus' life," says their website.
Atmosphere X will boast DJs playing classic remixed rock, EDM, hip hop, and contemporary rock. The wave pool will be filled with glow sticks and have lighted beach balls, and people can enjoy the concession stands. Although admission to the event is free, the concession stands require payment; they are not complimentary. Merchandise will also be available for purchase.
"We really encourage the whole family to come because it's a faith-based event," Zergo Gravity Outreach founder and Wilkinson says.
