Yellow Jackets defeated 40-6 by Calvary Day

The Southeast Bulloch winning streak would come to an end on September 6 when they played Savannah's Calvary Day. While the Cavaliers had the upper hand throughout the night, the Yellow Jackets kept on fighting till the end, gaining a touchdown with a few seconds on the clock.

The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets traveled out to Savannah to play Calvary Day in their third game of the season. They were looking to continue their winning streak, but the Cavaliers had other plans. Southeast Bulloch struggled to gain momentum, with their drives consistently stalling deep in Calvary Day’s territory. Calvary Day’s defense held firm throughout the game, forcing several punts and turnovers on downs.

First Quarter: The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets kicked off to Calvary Day to start the game. It didn't take long for Calvary to make their mark. After a long pass to Southeast Bulloch's 16-yard line, Calvary Day scored with a 16-yard rushing touchdown, quickly going up 7-0. Southeast Bulloch struggled to gain momentum and, after a series of downs, had to punt the ball back. Calvary Day capitalized on an 84-yard pass for another touchdown, but missed the PAT, making it 13-0. The Jackets' bad luck continued with a fumble that Calvary Day recovered on their 14-yard line. Calvary added another rushing touchdown to close out the quarter, extending their lead to 20-0.

Second Quarter: The second quarter started off with Southeast Bulloch forcing a turnover on downs, but they couldn’t sustain a drive. After a punt, Calvary Day delivered another blow with a 71-yard touchdown pass, putting them up 27-0. Southeast Bulloch were compounded by another fumble, which Calvary recovered. Calvary Day settled for a 34-yard field goal, making the score 30-0. The Yellow Jackets found themselves continually pushed back, struggling to get out of their own territory and punting again. Calvary Day controlled the ball for the rest of the quarter, driving deep into Southeast Bulloch territory gaining another 18-yard field goal. The score at halftime was 33-0. 

Third Quarter: The third quarter was a bit more balanced, but Southeast Bulloch couldn’t convert their drives into points. Calvary Day’s defense held strong, preventing the Yellow Jackets from making any significant plays. Calvary Day added a few more yards but stayed out of the end zone during this quarter.

Fourth Quarter: The Yellow Jackets only allowed the Cavaliers one touchdown during the final portion of the game. They were able to get a 25-yard pass, and a PAT, going 40-0. Southeast Bulloch was determinded that they weren't leaving empty handed, so with mere seconds left in the game, #47 Eli Smith was able to catch a 3-yard pass to put points on the board.
