Visit Statesboro receives Georgia Trend’s Travelblazers award

The Travelblazers program is designed to recognize community destination development projects. Visit Statesboro won the award for its development of the new farmer's market building at its location on South Main.

Visit Statesboro was honored to receive Georgia Trend’s Travelblazers award at the Georgia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau's (GACVB) 2023 Annual Awards Luncheon this week in Albany.

The Travelblazers program is designed to recognize community destination development projects exemplifying multi-partner collaboration and creative product development that demonstrates tourism at the economic development table. Visit Statesboro received the award for its work to design and develop the new venue behind the CVB on South Main, which houses the Statesboro Main Street Farmer's Market and hosts various special events.

"This award is a tremendous honor, and this project has truly been a labor of love for our community," said Becky Davis, President and CEO of Visit Statesboro. "We are so fortunate to have the best Board of Directors and the support of the City of Statesboro Government."

Board members of the Statesboro CVB include Barry Turner, Peyton Fuller, Jeff Yawn, Bryan Davis, Brent Tharp, Franklin Dismuke, Olivia Aseron, Christina Harrell, Darryl Hopkins, John Lavender, PK Huling, Elrico Rackard, Tim Grams, Murphy K. McRae, and Ryan Redding.

The GACVB conference was held Feb. 13-15 in Albany.
