Bulloch County's favorite daughter, Georgia Kate Anderson, received a hero's welcome home as hundreds of family, friends and even strangers lined about two miles of road cheering her home Friday, September 1, 2023.
57 days ago Georgia Kate was in a serious ATV accident. Her medical journey has taken her from East Georgia Regional Medical Center to Memorial Medical Center then to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) at Scottish Rite. Her mother, Melanie, and friends have chronicled her remarkable survival and recovery story on social media.
Thousands have followed her story and she has received prayers and wishes from all over the world. #georgiakatestorng has trended on social media and has been the rally call for support for her.
Local businesses and even national brands including Kendra Scott have stepped up to help the family financially through this journey.
This visit home is her first return home since the accident. She still has a journey ahead and will return back to CHOA for more day therapy soon.
Georgia Kate and her family have been encouraged and lifted by prayers and the remarkable grace of God who has been with them every step of this journey.
