Uptown Cheapskate, a leading resale clothing franchise, is excited to announce the grand opening of its new Statesboro location on Thursday, December 5, 2024. The store is located at 245 Tormenta Way in the University Station Shopping Complex behind Publix.

Christina and Tim Grams, franchisee partners and owners, are both natives of Bulloch County and graduates of Southeast Bulloch High School. Christina is also a Georgia Southern University alumni.

"We are thrilled to bring Uptown Cheapskate to Statesboro. God has opened many doors to make this dream and new adventure come true," Christina Grams said.

The store opened for buying on October 25, 2024. Selling customers are paid cash on the spot for their stylish, gently used apparel, handbags, and accessories, or they can choose to receive 25% more in store credit. Any items not purchased due to style or wear condition are donated to a local charity on the customer's behalf, or the customer can take the items back with them.

"After five and a half weeks, the store is 100% full, and we have had over 1,300 vendors in this time period, which is an absolutely amazing response from the community," Grams shared. "We are hoping to have the same response on Thursday, December 5th when we begin selling clothing, which so many have been patiently waiting for."

For those wanting to bring clothes in to sell, the store will continue to purchase items through its grand opening and after. They accept gently used clothing from all seasons, all year long. Clothing must be styles from within the last 2 years. No appointment is necessary to sell.

On Thursday, the first 50 people in line will receive a goody bag with giveaway items including a scratch off ticket for discounts of $5 up to $100 to be used for grand opening weekend only.  There will also be a raffle for two Michael Kors purses, Beats headphones, and free clothes for a year ($50 store credit per month for one year). Customers will receive one raffle entry of their choosing for every $25 spent in the store.

The grand opening celebration will continue through December 8th. Hours for Thursday-Saturday are 10am to 8pm and Sunday hours are 12-6pm. The store will be closed on Wednesday, December 4th to prepare for the grand opening.
